Powered by the BMW-derived two litre diesel engine, there is no cam belt to worry about on these - it's a chain driven engine. It pulls very well, with a surprising turn of speed when you want it. The gearbox changes up and down smoothly and the brakes are strong and pull the car up squarely. In fact we drove this particular car 50 miles to get it home and it never missed a beat. These have always been a nice car to drive, and values are starting to creep up now. It's not hard to see why, either.
